Hundertwasser's comment on the work

The rolling hills. I imagine entire streets covered with forests, looking like cross-sections of irregular hills. Inhabited wooded hill landscapes, so that you can hike over wooded hills from the road. In fact, you walk over houses. Technically, this is no problem, and you achieve a symbiosis between land and city, a reparation in the sense of peace with nature and a far-reaching improvement in the urban-human situation. You finally give back to nature, on a larger scale, territories that we have unlawfully taken from it. (from: Das Hundertwasser Haus, Vienna 1985; translation)
